What Nashville Luxury Travel Actually Looks Like
When most people think about Nashville luxury travel, they immediately picture Broadway, neon lights, pedal taverns, and chaos. And while that side of Nashville definitely exists… there’s also a completely different version of the city that feels way more elevated, curated, and honestly kind of hidden from tourists.
Luxury travel in Nashville is less about flashy old-money luxury and more about boutique experiences, beautiful hotels, wellness spaces, rooftop bars, chef-driven restaurants, intimate live music, and slower more intentional travel.
One thing that honestly surprised me most about upscale Nashville was how many beautiful spaces tourists completely miss. There are luxury hotels with rooftop pools and skyline views, quiet cocktail lounges with live music, incredible spas, wellness experiences, and restaurants that genuinely feel world-class.
And the best part? Most of it exists OUTSIDE the Broadway bubble

Best Luxury Hotels for Nashville Luxury Travel
If I had to choose my favorite luxury hotel in Nashville, it would probably be 1 Hotel Nashville. We LOVE a hotel focused on sustainability and wellness. The entire hotel feels earthy and calming with real plants throughout the rooms and restaurants. It honestly feels like an experience instead of just a hotel stay.
It’s also home to Harriet’s Rooftop which is one of my favorite rooftop bars in Nashville. Plus the location is super walkable to Broadway Nashville while still feeling way calmer than staying directly downtown.
The Joseph Nashville is another hotel that really feels like true upscale Nashville. The rooms are absolutely stunning and the rooftop pool is BEAUTIFUL. It feels quieter, cleaner, and more refined compared to some hotels downtown. Everything about it feels elevated.
The Hermitage Hotel gives more old-school timeless luxury. The stained glass ceilings, grand archways, and historic feel make it one of the most beautiful hotels in Nashville. Some rooms even overlook the Capitol building which is honestly such a cool view.
The Thompson Nashville is another one of my favorites because the location in The Gulch is SO good. You’re walking distance to coffee shops, upscale restaurants, cocktail bars, shopping, and rooftop bars. It feels trendy but still elevated.
Is The Gulch or Downtown Better for Nashville Luxury Travel?
For Nashville luxury travel, I personally think The Gulch feels way more upscale than downtown Nashville.
The Gulch is cleaner, more walkable, more aesthetic, and filled with boutique hotels, rooftop bars, upscale fitness studios, coffee shops, and trendy restaurants. It feels modern luxury without being overly flashy.

12 South feels more like laid-back luxury with boutique shopping, cute cafés, brunch spots, and beautiful homes. Want to learn more about 12 South? Read 12 South Hidden Gems. Germantown gives more quiet luxury vibes with incredible restaurants and beautiful architecture.
And honestly? If you don’t mind driving outside the city a bit, Franklin and Leipers Fork are AMAZING for slower luxury travel weekends, romantic trips, wellness weekends, and upscale girls trips.

Nashville’s luxury food scene honestly surprised me SO much.
Bourbon Steak is one of the best upscale restaurants in Nashville if you want incredible food, skyline views, and really good cocktails. It feels luxurious without trying too hard. They’re usually open from around 5 PM–10 PM throughout the week and I HIGHLY recommend reservations.
The Catbird Seat is honestly more of an experience than just dinner. It feels very chef-driven and intimate with a Michelin-style tasting experience. You’re paying equally for the food and the overall experience. Reservations here are essential because seating is super limited.
Yolan is another beautiful luxury restaurant in Nashville with handmade pasta, an amazing wine program, and a quieter elegant atmosphere. It feels romantic and refined without feeling stuffy.

Best Rooftop Bars for Nashville Luxury Travel
Harriet’s Rooftop is still one of my favorite rooftop bars in Nashville. The plants everywhere, earthy design, skyline views, and sunset vibe make it feel really elevated. I always recommend going around sunset before it gets crowded later in the evening.
LA Jackson at the Thompson Hotel is another great rooftop for cocktails and light bites. Earlier in the evening it feels more relaxed, but weekends definitely turn more nightlife-heavy later at night.
If you want something more intimate, The Fox Bar in East Nashville is SUCH a vibe. It’s moody, hidden, upscale, and feels way more local than Broadway nightlife.

Best Luxury Things to Do in Nashville
Luxury travel in Nashville honestly feels more experience-based than flashy.
For me, the best luxury experiences here are spa days, rooftop pool days, incredible dinners, live music in intimate venues, and slower days wandering around neighborhoods like 12 South or Franklin.
One of my favorite luxury Nashville experiences is spending the afternoon at the rooftop pool at The Joseph before getting sunset cocktails at Harriet’s Rooftop later in the evening.
I also think private tours are 100% worth it if you want a stress-free Nashville trip. Especially if you’re short on time and don’t want to spend your whole vacation planning transportation, restaurants, and neighborhoods.

The spa at The Joseph is definitely one of the best luxury spa experiences in Nashville. Everything about it feels upscale and relaxing.
For rooftop pools, The Joseph and Four Seasons Nashville are probably my two favorites.
And for cocktails? The Patterson House and The Fox Bar are honestly elite. The Patterson House especially has some of the best cocktails in Nashville and such a cool intimate atmosphere.

Denim at The Joseph feels very refined and upscale. It’s quieter, more intimate, and perfect for upscale date nights or catching up with friends over cocktails.
Harriet’s Rooftop still wins for aesthetics though. The design, plants, skyline views, and overall atmosphere just make it feel really stylish without feeling too clubby.
Best Upscale Cocktail Bars in Nashville
Attaboy is one of the coolest cocktail experiences in Nashville because there’s no actual menu. The bartenders guide the experience based on what flavors and drinks you like.
The Patterson House has been one of my favorite Nashville cocktail bars for YEARS. I love the dim lighting, talented bartenders, and overall atmosphere. The newer downtown location feels a little more open while still keeping the same intimate vibe.
The Gulch is honestly the best overall neighborhood for Nashville luxury nightlife because you can walk between rooftop bars, upscale restaurants, cocktail lounges, and hotels so easily.
Germantown is another amazing area for quieter upscale nights with wine bars and restaurants like Rolf & Daughters.
Best Time for Nashville Luxury Travel
Best Months to Visit Nashville for Luxury Travel
Nashville definitely gets busiest during CMA Fest, football weekends, summer bachelorette season, and major concerts. April, May, June, and October are usually the busiest months overall.
For rooftop season specifically, I think April, May, September, and October are honestly the best months because the weather is warm without feeling brutally hot.
Hotel prices definitely spike during major event weekends, SEC football weekends, CMA Fest, New Year’s Eve, and large concert weekends.
Final Thoughts on Nashville Luxury Travel
Is Nashville Worth Visiting for Luxury Travel?
Yes… absolutely.
Nashville may not be the first city people think of for luxury travel, but once you get outside the Broadway tourist bubble, there’s honestly a completely different side of the city.
There are beautiful boutique hotels, incredible restaurants, luxury wellness experiences, rooftop bars, intimate live music venues, and neighborhoods that feel stylish without feeling pretentious.
I think Nashville luxury travel is perfect for couples trips, girls trips, solo luxury travelers, wellness weekends, and honestly anyone looking for a mix of nightlife, food, luxury hotels, and slower local experiences.

Book your restaurants, spas, and rooftop bars ahead of time… but still leave room for wandering around the city because some of the best Nashville experiences happen when you randomly discover a cocktail bar, coffee shop, or neighborhood you weren’t planning on finding.
