beach hurghada

The best beaches in Hurghada are one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back whenever I’m in Egypt. The backdrop of the mountains against the Red Sea is honestly unreal. The water is crystal clear, and if you’re into snorkeling or diving, this is the place to be.

The coral reefs here are some of the best I’ve ever seen. They’re full of colorful fish, vibrant coral, and so much marine life. It’s one of those places where you can spend hours in the water and never get bored.

While a lot of the best beaches in Hurghada belong to resorts, there are still plenty you can visit without staying there.

If you’re wondering which Hurghada beaches are actually worth your time, these are the ones I’d recommend.

Best Beaches in Hurghada for Snorkeling

Mahmya Beach – One of the Best Hurghada Beaches for Snorkeling

Holyyy… the water here is ridiculously clear.

The coral reefs are colorful, the fish are everywhere, and you can snorkel right off the beach. It also feels much quieter than some of the more popular beaches around Hurghada, which I loved.

If snorkeling is at the top of your list, don’t skip this one.

Orange Bay Beach in Hurghada

Orange Bay has become one of the most popular beaches in Hurghada, and after visiting, I totally understand why.

The sand is soft and white. The water is that unreal turquoise color you see all over Instagram. There are boat trips heading here every single day, and the atmosphere is just fun.

If you only have time to visit one beach during your trip, this is the one I’d choose.

Best Beaches in Hurghada for Relaxing

Sahl Hasheesh Beach

If you’re looking for a slower pace, Sahl Hasheesh is perfect.

The beach feels peaceful, the water is calm, and there are plenty of loungers where you can spend the day doing absolutely nothing. Beach service is available for food, drinks, and towels, which makes it even better.

Once you’ve had enough sun, there are cute little cafés and shops nearby to wander through.

Old Vic Beach

Old Vic Beach is another great option if your goal is simply to relax.

Grab a sunbed, order a drink, and enjoy a slow afternoon by the Red Sea. Sometimes that’s exactly what a vacation needs.

Best Beaches in Hurghada for Families

Makadi Bay Beach

If you’re traveling with kids, I’d head straight to Makadi Bay.

The water is shallow, the beaches are well looked after, and there are plenty of family-friendly resorts nearby. Everything is close together, which makes traveling with little ones so much easier.

My Favorite Beach in Hurghada

If I could only choose one beach, it’d be Orange Bay.

There’s just something about the water here. It’s unbelievably blue, the snorkeling is incredible, and it feels like one of those places you never want to leave.

That said, if you’re looking for somewhere quieter, I’d definitely choose Sahl Hasheesh instead.

Where to Stay Near the Best Beaches in Hurghada

If spending your days by the water is your priority, I’d stay near Sahl Hasheesh or Makadi Bay.

Both areas have beautiful resorts, easy beach access, and a much more relaxed atmosphere than central Hurghada.

Planning a Hurghada Trip?

If you’re adding Hurghada to a bigger Egypt adventure, I’d love to help.

Whether you’re planning Cairo, Luxor, a Nile cruise, or a few relaxing days by the Red Sea, I can help you build an itinerary that fits your travel style.
